This guide explains one way to explore artwork for Custom9 products before you use our online design tool. You can use reference images and Google Gemini to brainstorm visuals, then upload the result (or your own file) when you customize a product on Custom9.
1. What you need
A Google account to sign in to Gemini (when required by Google).
Reference images or a clear idea of colors, themes, and style (logos, patterns, mascots, text layout).
Your design must be yours to use or properly licensed for print. You are responsible for rights and originality.
2. Collect references
Save or note 2–5 reference images that match the mood you want (patterns, typography style, or color palettes—not to copy protected work).
Write a short description: product type (for example T-shirt front graphic), main subject, colors, and whether you want text and what it should say.
3. Open Google Gemini
Go to Google Gemini in your browser and sign in if prompted.
Gemini is a third-party service; features and availability depend on Google. Custom9 does not operate Gemini.
4. Build a useful prompt
Combine your description with constraints, for example: "flat vector-style graphic for a T-shirt print," "high contrast," "no photo background," or "single main subject, centered."
If you attach reference images, ask for an original design inspired by the style, not a copy of the references.
5. Refine the result
Ask for revisions: simplify lines, change colors, adjust text spelling, or create a transparent-background version if that fits your workflow.
When you have something you like, download or export according to Gemini and save it in a format you can upload (PNG with transparency is often ideal for prints).
6. Use Custom9
Open the product you want on Custom9 and launch the design tool. Upload your image, position it on the garment, and preview before checkout.
For best print quality, use high-resolution artwork and check contrast against the garment color.
7. Disclaimer
AI-generated output may be imperfect or unusable for print. Always review spelling, edges, and transparency. You remain responsible for the final design and for complying with applicable laws and third-party terms when using Gemini.
