A TShirt I LOVE Fat Quarter Sewing fridaysews 21Aug26
SueYarham: Thank you Carole. It is everyone’ s choice what tools they use in their sewing practice. I personally am very concerned about AI but I would never criticise you or anyone else for using it.
I completely agree with you that my sewing room is my special place and where I become mindful. We are lucky to have such a wonderful hobby. Thank you for your weekly vlogs.
janelittlehales7999: It's your channel Carol and if you want to include Chat GP then include it. I've found it very educational and would like to try it. I think the silent majority are enjoying that aspect of your sewing planning. Regarding quiet spaces in sewing. I love to sit and hand sew a hem. Very mindful. x
karenneale2840: Hi Carole I love everything you make. I would never criticise anything you make as there is a lot of time put into it. You tube have a lot of negative people who just like to moan. Take no notice and carry on what you’re doing. Your great!
vickidame6487: Carole, I enjoyed seeing what ChatGPT did for you! I love technology! I’m 76 and can do so many more things than most people my age! I haven’t tried that app yet, but due to your experience and the amazing things it showed you, I may! I use embroidery software to split designs and make Christmas and Birthday cards. I fix bad embroidery files. I’m the one in our household that takes care of internet issues and tv issues, etc. Please don’t let some people’s negativity stop you from showing us what GPT can do!
DebWalker-h4e: Hi Carole! Love your vlog. So sorry that you received negative comments on AI. I enjoyed seeing the possibilities and you then you using your creativity to completea usable garment. Thank you for all that you do.
alwayslearning9520: I have watched you since your first episode and you are the first sewing video I watch each Friday. Please do not stop sharing any of the strategies you use to make sewing enjoyable for you. If I or anyone else do not like content we can quietly move on and find something else. Please do not let the negative Nellie’s sap your joy. Thank you for being here each week.
elmienkruger9320: Dear Carole, Thank you for another great video. I'm sorry to hear about the negative comments on your ChatGPT videos. I agree with you, it is here to stay and I have enjoyed that content. Personally I feel we choose what videos we want to watch and the viewers who have a problem with those videos can choose not to watch the AI content videos. Please ignore those negative comments. You are a fabulous content creator that brings a lot of joy to the sewing community. On another random note: Can you maybe please suggest a big 4 pattern for more classic, formal pants? You are one of a few channels where the sewist prefer big 4 patterns and it is another reason why I can't wait for your new video every week!
suzannewilman7634: Love your blue T shirt especially the embroidery on the pocket. Also love the colourful pouches, they are awesome and encourage me to give them ago. Looking forward to seeing the transformation of the floral shirt to a Donny. Thanking for sharing your amazing pictures again - really look forward to seeing them each week
mollysmith6055: Edit: My new phone ate most of my comment but I liked your ‘frumpy’ shirt and am sorry that comments took away your confidence in it. And regarding using AI are your infrequent uses of it any comparison to the millions of searches we all do with Google or other search engines? We need to find balance and be more kind on the internet. Please continue to share your light hearted use of Chippy T. Regarding quiet spaces in our sewing I find it when working in low gear for tasks like topstitching. The machine is slowed down, the sound is steady and controlled and makes my mind calm and focus just on the needle and keeping the stitching precise. Lovely photos today and now I really see again how painfully dry it is. Praying for late summer rains to relieve the land. Have a great weekend.
lfc286: Sorry to hear that some comments unsettled you. People need to be more conscious about how they share their opinions.
I think it was genius using it in a sewing application. How smart are you
maggiemcquillan6082: Loved your new t shirt, such a bonny colour and the embroidery on the pocket is great. I so enjoy your videos each week and hearing what you’re up to and where you’ve been. Keep doing what you’re doing and thank you for sharing
cherylhoulton3719: Hi Carole, sorry to hear you were upset by comments , I find it interesting how we could use AI in our hobby will be trying it myself. Our sewing rooms are our safe spaces .Lovely photo's as always. x
Lindam47: Lovely chat Carole. You introduced me to Chat GPT and I’ve found it a big help.. I mainly use it for looking at a pattern with a certain fabric, I have also used it in my scrapbooking for ideas.
susananderson9280: Hi Carol, I'm so sorry you've had negative comments that's awful. I find your channel very interesting and informative and enjoy my Friday's with you.
I love that you talked about 'chippy tea' I haven't used that tool as I'm old but it must be very useful as you've had such success with it.
Well done Carol and thank you for your time. I hope your thumb is okay and the injection hasn't worn off yet. Happy Sewing
MonaDidWhat: Love the embroidery on the pocket
annasellborn2590: I liked the philosophical bit of this video I often find, if I buy a special fabric and sew something special, that when I am done and make a little something with the leftovers, I am much more relaxed. Or when I find a piece of fabric that never got used and I come up with other ideas, I love the process more than I would have imagined
joygoncalves4917: Carole - Your embroidery on this is Beautiful.
Ohcarol912: Carole you introduced me to ChatGPT and I can’t thank you enough it’s a tool to use but not live by but a useful tool nevertheless. Loved your fat quarter pouches very pretty. Until next time have a fabulous week. Carol
robinlandtroop2774: Carole, I don't know why people feel compelled to be so rude on social media. Please don't take it to heart. You have a great channel and if they don't like that you use AI that is their problem. I personally like knowing what AI can help with. If everyone was like me we would probably still be living in caves. I use people like you to pull me, kicking and screaming, into the current century. Again, thank you for providing entertainment and education. Have a great week.
doggal-re6zt: I so enjoy your podcasts, even without many makes to share. You are always an inspiration. My take on AI... in general I don't like it because it offers the opportunity for bad people to abuse it to harm others, which we are already seeing. However, I do understand there is good use for it as well. I stay away from it. Having said that, I was very interested in what it came up with when you asked about patterns and fabric. Likewise, my adult children have used it to see what an addition on their house would look like. I will agree in that application it can be useful. In the end, you should do what you are comfortable with and don't let others' opinions get to you. Everyone is different, so do your thing. You always have beautiful and interesting things to show us. And PS: I didn't think that shirt looked "frumpy", but whatever you do to it, it will turn out great! Greetings from Virginia, USA
ozicats: I think your choices are yours and not really up for negative comments from anyone else. I use AI on occasion too. I'm sorry you were subject to such criticism. You're such a lovely sharing person. Just forget about any negativity.
sallymcginley4104: carol, I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. I think all your content is great and I feel I am very similar to you. I don't comment generally, but I felt the need to today. As I was sitting watching and listening to you I was quiet stitching EPP in my sewing room finishing some hexi flowers with my brain relaxed love all your makes. It's a personal choice what we use to help with inspiration, I am so happy to see that you are a nature loved and you also try to use every scrap of fabric for your projects, which is fabulous for the environment saving it from landfill. Keep doing what your doing I'm also going to revisit record t-shirt because I think yours looks great. X
BookwormALT: Love the tee. I love the flower pattern too. Good luck with the alterations!
pinkysfarm461: Coffee & Carole!!! Good morning lovely!!!! The blue shirt is like an elegant version of a tshirt. The embroidery just kicks it up a notch. Glad you had fun with the kids. Ive been doing alot of Grandmothering this week too. We seem to have taken my grandsons best friend under our wing, as he is 17 years old and lives alone in a house that his dad pays for. He has no one to provide food or trips to the store or guide him into adult life. His mother is no longer alive and his family just doesn’t help him out. It’s very very sad and he is such a sweet kid so needless to say I have spent a lot of time with him in the last month or so, just caring for him, feeding him, clothing, him, and doing simple things like taking him for a haircut. He is very grateful and I feel wonderful helping him out so that said, there hasn’t been much time in the sewing room. I’m hoping to work on my project wheel of fate this afternoon or this weekend. I need to get that purse made ASAP so I can get to a clothing project. Enough of me rambling on about myself… I hope you enjoy a nice quiet week in your sewing room and I know that helps us all reset after being busy. I will be anxious to see what all you make and share with us. Have a lovely weekend, hello to Chris and all the kids, and prayers for all the family love you much.!!xx
nancyhilborn885: Thanks for sharing your makes, mindfulness, and a manners reminder. Look forward to seeing how the changes to your floral shirt work out. I did the opposite to a woven T-shirt that had a Peter pan collar a few years back and I really enjoyed wearing it afterwards.
Rosebud-l9p: I don't use chippy t but I've found your use of it interesting. I wouldn't criticise anyone for using it, thats an individual choice and as you say it's here whether we like it or not. You can't please all of the people as they say.
I have a small very old Brother embroidery machine but struggling sewing on jersey do you have any tips?
Thanks for another great vlog
sibyllolson3237: I love your new t-shirt. And, regarding AI…geez, people will always find something to be offended about. I didn’t think anything of you using it and it’s your choice. Yes, AI is concerning but just like a lot of new technology, it has its good points and it can absolutely be used for evil too. Take YouTube as an example and how wonderful it has been to learn new things and for entertainment but then there is a disgusting side to it. Those people criticizing you are obviously on YT. I am very annoyed over the virtue signaling that is prevalent these days.
