I'd love to see a video on how to dress casually for summer with enough coverage for a middle-aged lady. (covered from elbows and knees, up) I can't quite figure out how to look cute with fewer clothes, stay covered up, and avoid dying of heat from these weird CA summer in winter days we've been having.
PS - if you are ever in San Diego - I'm an EXCELLENT thrift shopper :)

stephaniequick2683: more great and practical ideas! I'll only add a little twist - I never wear scarfs tied closely around my neck as you do, it's just a personal preference. BUT I'll take the same size of silk scarves, twist them into something like a tube and tie the ends together so it echoes a let's say 18-20" long necklace if that makes sense. same impact but more comfortable for those of us who can't take neck pressure (thank you thyroid issues lol).
back when we were punk we'd tie little plastic babies to our silk scarves worn this way, but that's a topic for another day ...

yensid4294: I'm glad you mentioned undershirts! Foundational undergarments were worn for a reason & now that things are seldom lined & fabrics are quite thin, I think they are important. They give a nice smoothe line & absorb sweat. I always wear an under layer with a sweater or blouse

Last year I discovered colorful chiffon tops long or short kimonos, beach cover ups and pop overs. They're hiding with the lingerie, swim wear or summer vacation togs. If I'm concerned about modesty I pop on a camisole. I've never paid more than $10.
